Petition, 1955

These are portions of the 10th Hiroshima mural painted by the Marukis in 1955. They also wrote the following text:

"Stop the atomic bomb! Stop the hiroshima bomb! Stop war!

The appeal of mothers in Tokyo's Suginami Ward spread throughout Japan. Children, mothers, fathers, senior citizens, and workers of all kinds signed the petition.

For the first time, a voice was given to the people's muffled cry, and millions signed the petition for peace."
