Kasai Masae, captain of the women's 1964 gold-medal winning Olympic volleyball team (known as "Witches of the East") marries Nakamura Masao, an officer in the Ground Self-Defense Force, May 1965. Proud of her achievemant, Prime Minister Satō Eisaku is said to have acted as matchmaker.
