Washing Out a Tub
"An elderly female resident of a fishing village, washing out her tub. Note the massive carpentry on the prow of the big surf fishing boat on the beach. In general the role of women in the coastal fishery communities was higher than in farming villages, largely because the frequent absences of the men required the women to take charge of the household and the finances as well as various tasks associated with fisheries."
