Maryland Institute for Technology for in the Humanities (MITH) is looking for a creative undergraduate or graduate assistant specializing in graphic design. This is a great learning opportunity and a chance to work with a design professional to increase your knowledge and skills in graphic design to strengthen your resume before graduation.
Responsibilities
(Please note that responsibilities may change depending on projects, staffing needs and personal interests.)
- Assist the Graphic Designer in designing marketing materials for various MITH projects
- Research pricing on print/swag items
- Contact and negotiate with printing companies for print quotes
- Prepare final project files for submission
- Place print orders
Qualifications
- Graphic design experience or relevant college level coursework
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Familiarity with marketing and publicity
- Self-motivated
- Willing to take the initiative and contribute suggestions and ideas
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
Desired Skills
- Web design and coding experience: HTML/CSS and Adobe Dreamweaver (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with MailChimp (HTML e-newsletter software)
- Video editing experience: iMovie or Final Cut Pro (or equivalent)
