We are very pleased to announce the first of our two keynote speakers, Lev Manovich, Professor of Visual Arts and New Media at the University of California San Diego. Many will know Manovich for his pioneering book The Language of New Media (MIT Press, 2001) and his involvement in the burgeoning software studies movement. At the conference, Manovich will address his ongoing work in cultural analytics, using high performance computing and advanced visualization to study the web of contemporary culture.

A second keynote speaker will be announced shortly.
