The Women's Studies Program at the University of Redlands invites applications for a tenure-track position in Women's Studies, rank open.

The Women's Studies Program enjoys wide interdisciplinary support among faculty, offers a minor and currently is developing a major to be implemented within the next two years. Course load at the University of Redlands is six courses a year, with faculty responsibilities including advising and university service. Area of specialization is open. We particularly invite applications from candidates with expertise in contemporary and historical perspectives on any of the following: feminism, literature, and literary criticism; transcultural and postcolonial studies; feminist art; art history and cultural studies; women in science and feminist theory of science; feminist theory and methods; and/or intersections of race, class, and gender.

Teaching responsibilities for this position will include four to six courses from the candidate's areas of specialization, some to be upper division. Candidate may also develop courses in special curriculum areas (e.g., first year seminars, the senior capstone seminar, May term, or courses for the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies) and will play a significant role in the implementation of the new major. Other opportunities may include program directing, internship supervision, or courses linked with Community Service or the activism component of the new major.
