ARM Conference on Mothering and Feminism (03/02/04)


Call for Papers:

The Association for Research on Mothering (ARM) invites submissions of abstracts for our 8th annual conference on

Mothering and Feminism
October 22-24, 2004
York University, Toronto, Canada

This conference will explore, from a variety of perspectives and disciplines, the intersections between mothering, motherhood and feminism. It will also examine developments in the field of maternal feminist scholarship, the experiences and perspectives of feminist mothers, and representations of mothering and feminism. We welcome submissions from students, activists, scholars, artists and others who work or research in this area. Cross-cultural, historical and comparative work is encouraged. We encourage a variety of types of submissions including academic papers, workshops, creative submissions, performances, storytelling, visual arts and other alternative formats.

  • Andrea O’Reilly, editor of Mothers and Daughters and Mothers and Sons, author of Toni Morrison and Motherhood
