The Economics Education and Research Consortium (EERC) and the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (Kyiv, Ukraine) invite all interested persons from Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova to apply to Ukraine's first international-caliber graduate program in economics, fully accredited by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education. The EERC master's program in economics, established by international donor organizations, prepares its students to work as economists in policymaking institutions and business immediately upon graduation or to pursue PhD studies abroad. The program's content, quality, and resources are intended to match those available in top master's programs in North America and Western Europe. The MA program features a two-year English-language curriculum taught by international faculty from Europe, North America, and other parts of the world. Several Western-trained economists from Ukraine and neighboring countries teach in the program as visiting professors as well. The first year of study covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and advanced mathematics. The second year consists of applied courses such as labor markets, economics of the public sector, international economics and finance, transitional economics, international trade, financial institutions and markets, etc. Students will be provided with western textbooks, an access to Internet, and a room in the dormitory. After graduation the students have great possibilities for further studying abroad at the PhD level or employment in their home country. Admission to the program is based on merit and is open to the applicants who meet the basic eligibility requirements: a.. Diploma of completed higher education by the time of entrance
A prior specialization in economics is desirable, but not essential. The application deadline is July 1, 2003.
