The Lightbox in Action

  • National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The Lightbox will be used at the Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas in August 2006. (The conference is for law enforcement personnel from around the country; there will be a lab where attendees can come in and view sanitized images of children to help identify them or give leads about their location. The Lightbox is part of the application that enables attendees to manipulate the image.)

  • The Agrippa Files, Transcriptions Project, University of California, Santa Barbara. Web site documenting archival material related to this famous piece of virtual art. Examples.

  • The Emblem Project Utrecht. A Dutch initiative with the objective of digitizing the corpus of Dutch love emblems. Example.

  • VLMA: A Virtual Lightbox for Museums and Archives. "The image manipulation segments of the VLMA source code are based on the Virtual Lightbox (created by the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities)."
