In many ways, Horror has seemed to be more straightforward in categorizing (at least from what I've seen), since there are certain key words that immediately recall this genre. Science fiction is a bit trickier, as it's difficult to pin the genre down in only a few categories, but the Light/Darkness category might be a help going forward. Yes, it was definitely something that jumped out, even though I don’t know how much this category alone tells me. In my runs on general Gothic and Gothic Horror that topic has definitely not been prevalent. If it's turned up at all, I don't remember it. (I would have to go through my findings carefully to see if it's there.) Also, as you mentioned, I can think of how the topic might fit into Sci-Fi themes.
