- This program looks at the 20th century political pressures leading towards civil rights protections, the evolution of civil rights issues from the South to a primarily urban African American population, the new sense of urgency created by lingering myths--such as as the myth of white supremacy--and the crisis in the civil rights movement over some groups advocating Black separatism.
